What a brilliant event it was at the International Women's Day celebrations at The Brighton Dome yesterday. The long foyer bar was decked with stalls representing a plethora of womens interests. The Mayor of Brighton, Bill Randall addressed the gathering, and reinforced his support for the Brighton Womens' Centre (a charity he supports officially) and praised the anti-Sun page 3 campaign championed by one of the guest speakers.
I was delighted to perform at the event, and from the stage I could see that many people along the length of the room were joining in with the songs and enjoying my performance. I also got some great feedback when I spoke to the individual stallholders afterwards.
So thanks to the organisers and all those who attended and made it a very special occasion.
