Globe - All Warming to Charity Tanzania Bash

The Globewas a very appropriately named venue for last night's"Tanzania Bash".

The event was to raise funds for Carrie & Lou to go to Tanzania with 'Bridge 2 Aid'.

Guests were encouraged to dress up in African garb, and a face painter was on hand to add essential animal markings to those wanting to really explore their inner African beast.

Live entertainment for the evening was provided by yours truly,Ronnie Rialto, and upcoming local Brighton band'Blind Ammunition'

Party Time Below The Mad Hatter

TheRabbit Holewas close to capacity last night. Thanks to Sharon Parsons for choosing my gig to celebrate her 60th birthday. It was an "up for it" crowd, and although a little noiser throughout than usual, there was no doubt that they enjoyed their evening. I received plenty of compliments and enquiries about future performances.

Next up is a charity fundraiser atThe Globepub in Middle Street, Brighton onSaturday 22nd June. I'll be sharing the bill with a promising new band called Blind Ammunition.

Debut at Danny's North of the Downs

Last night I found myself north of the South Downs in Haywards Heath. I was on the bill for the second ofDanny's Comedy Clubnights. Not as a comedian, of course - I was there to provide musical interludes between the acts.

This is an excellent new venture seeking to provide quality entertainment in the Mid-Sussex heartland. I really enjoyed seeing the other acts perform - thanks to Pierre Novelli, Sarah Iles, Mike Cox, Roy Dumbrell, Michael Mooney, Dave Streeter and Joy Carter

Spring has sprung at the Rabbit Hole as Ronnie's new venture takes root!

Thanks to all who came to theRabbit Holegig yesterday (6th April). My aspiration to create a jazz club vibe is actually happening. I really enjoyed the gig, and from the positive feedback I got, so did my lovely audience.

This venture is a departure from the 'standards' set that I'm best known for - I will still be doing this at other events - but the Rabbit Hole is aboutJazz, Swing and Blues, and that's what I'll be doing more of at this venue.

The next Rabbit Hole gig will be a private party on Saturday 4th May.

Bois Night Out

Thanks to Flirty Bertie and Adam All for a very enjoyable "Bois Night Out" at The Candy Bar in Soho last night. The crowd were well up for a raucous time and it looks like this monthly event could be taking off! I was very pleased to be invited along as special guest performer, and I hope I'll be returning there soon.

Bois Night Out is on the second Wednesday of every month from 9pm
at the Candy Bar, Carlisle St. London

International Women's Day

What a brilliant event it was at theInternational Women's Daycelebrations at The Brighton Dome yesterday. The long foyer bar was decked with stalls representing a plethora of womens interests. The Mayor of Brighton, Bill Randall addressed the gathering, and reinforced his support for the Brighton Womens' Centre (a charity he supports officially) and praised the anti-Sun page 3 campaign championed by one of the guest speakers.
I was delighted to perform at the event, and from the stage I could see that many people along the length of the room were joining in with the songs and enjoying my performance.

Ronnie down The Rabbit Hole

Yesterday also saw my second gig at The Rabbit Hole Bar in Brighton. This is a small,  but perfectly formed basement bar underneath the Mad Hatter Cafe near Waitrose.

The bar is transformed into 'Ronnie's club' for the evening and the vibe is much more Jazz/Blues/Swing oriented than my 'standards' set that I perform on other occasions.

As a new venture, I relied on my regular supporters to attend and help to create to atmosphere and mood of an old-style Jazz club.

Christmas Trio!

I had the best time with my three Christmassy gigs: I kicked off on Wednesday 12th December with a guest appearance at theQukulele Christmas Special at The Latest Bar. What fun! The Qukulele's held the stage and other guests included the comedian Sarah Wilkins, Elvis & Friends (a brilliant puppet act peformed by my good friends Tracy Steel & Zeb Friedman) and Al Start. The atmosphere was very friendly and warm - and the audience were incredibly gracious when I forgot the words to one of my songs - they immediately hummed and la la'd the tune - bailing me out of an embarrassing moment!

Sun, Sea & Sappho Women

I've just returned from  a week in Lesbos where I attended theINTERNATIONAL ERESSOS WOMEN'S FESTIVAL. - What a brilliant time I had. My primary goal was to chill out and relax with my friend Mandy from London, but I took along some backing tracks, just in case a performance opportunity presented itself.

After a couple of impromtu performances at Roots Bar and the Aeolian Village Hotel, I found myself on theFestival's Main Stagein the open air cinema as one of the opening acts for the Alternative Fashion Show.

LGBT Health Summit Sept 2012

Thanks to all who were involved in
my appearance at the LGBT Health Summit at the University of Kent in Canterbury on 13th September. The audience, consisting of delegates attending the conference, were well up for a night of fun and frolics and were very appreciative. It was great to see people dancing in couples to my crooner tunes and enjoying the latin rhythms of  'Sway' and ' Save The Last Dance For Me' a la Buble!

Metro, the conference organisers, represented by Beth James were very professional, and I hope we'll be working together more in the future.
